Powerplant mechanics may work on the engine (powerplant) of many types of aircraft, such as jets, propeller-driven airplanes, and helicopters; or, powerplant mechanics may specialize in one system of a particular type of aircraft, such as engine, engine-driven hydraulic pumps, or electrical system connections.
