Applicants for the Chrysler CAP (College Automotive Program) must meet the following requirements:
- Obtain an Application for Admission from the Office of Admissions in Building 10 room 10-112, or online from the Sinclair Admissions website. Submit the completed application to the Office of Registration & Student Records, Building 10, room 10-231. The Application for Admission is also available at the college placement testing center.
- Take the college placement test in the areas of mathematics, English, and reading. The placement test is administered in Building 10, fourth floor, room 10-445 during the following time periods:
9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday (no Saturday hours summer quarter)
Allow three hours to take the test. If you have not yet submitted your application for admission, the testing center will deliver your completed application to the registration office for you. For more information, contact the Testing Center, room 10445, (937) 512-3076. - Obtain and complete an application requesting entry into the CAP program. Click this link to download the CAP application. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.0 or higher to read and print this document. The CAP application is also available from the Sinclair Automotive and Fire Science Building 20, room 20-244.
- Submit the completed application to Michael Taylor, CAP Coordinator, Building 20, Sinclair Community College, 444 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402-1460.
- Make an appointment to meet with the CAP Coordinator to discuss the program. To make an appointment, call (937) 512-2256, or send an e-mail to Mike.Taylor@sinclair.edu. You can make an appointment any time after you have taken the placement test.
- If you have attended another college or university and you want to transfer credits, send official college transcripts directly from the issuing institution to the Office of Registration & Student Records, room 10-231.
Admission to the program is limited by the above-listed procedures. Those who are selected for the program will receive assistance in finding a dealership. Being hired by a cooperating Chrysler LLC dealership as a CAP student constitutes final acceptance to the program. Those accepted into the program will be notified by the CAP Coordinator.
