Students interested in the Automotive Technology Comprehensive program, Certificate program, or American Honda PACT (Professional Automotive Career Training) program can register for classes in any quarter.
Students who want to pursue the American Honda PACT Program must have the Automotive Technology chairperson's approval. PACT students should register for comprehensive program classes, and must meet with the Honda coordinator before classes begin.
Applicants for the above programs must meet the following requirements for admission to Sinclair Community College and to the automotive program:
- Obtain an Application for Admission from the Office of Admissions in Building 10 room 10-112, or online from the Sinclair Admissions website. Submit the completed application to the Office of Registration & Student Records, Building 10, room 10-231. The Application for Admission is also available at the college placement Testing Center.
- If you are pursuing a degree or certificate, you must take the college placement test in the areas of mathematics, English, and reading. The placement test is administered in Building 10, fourth floor, room 10-445 during the following time periods:
9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday
9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Friday
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. Saturday (no Saturday hours summer quarter)
Allow three hours to take the test. If you have not yet submitted your application for admission, the testing center will deliver your completed application to the registration office for you. For more information, contact the Testing Center, room 10-445, (937) 512-3076.
- Register for classes by filling out a registration form, available at the Office of Registration & Student Records in Building 10, second floor, room 10-231, or at the Automotive and Fire Science Building 20, room 20-244. - If you have attended another college or university and you want to transfer credits, send official college transcripts directly from the issuing institution to the Office of Registration & Student Records, room 10-231. After the transcripts have been sent, contact the Engineering Counselors office (937)512-2282 and request to have the transcripts evaluated. The evaluation will indicate which transfer courses will align with the Sinclair automotive program.
