Prior to entering Quarter III of the Nursing Program, the student will be required to complete the following health requirements:
- physical examination by a physician
- dental examination by a dentist
- two-step Mantoux Tuberculosis skin test
- Hepatitis B immunization
- Tetanus and Diphtheria Adult Vaccine
- Rubella and Rubeola (3 day, 5 day measles) vaccine or titre
- chicken pox titre or vaccine
CPR Certification
Prior to entering Quarter III of the Nursing Program, the student is responsible for obtaining Professional CPR Certification, as taught by the Red Cross or American Heart Association.
Students must provide a copy of their CPR card to the Nursing Office initially and with each recertification.
Updates
The Mantoux test must be updated yearly in order to be in the clinical environment. (Following the initial two-step Mantoux test, the student should receive an annual one-step Mantoux test).
CPR certification must be renewed every one (Red Cross) or two (American Heart Association) years in order to remain in the clinical environment.
Copies of these updates must be submitted to the Nursing Office.
