LIFE & HEALTH SCIENCES

FAQ

How do I get started in a Life and Health Sciences program?

In addition to college admission requirements, each Life and Health sciences program has specific admission criteria which must be met prior to acceptance.  For this reason, along with the limited enrollment of our programs, we strongly suggest that you stop by and see one of the academic advisors in room 11-346 to get started.

Do I need an appointment to see a counselor?

The academic advisors have walk-in hours from 8:30-6:30, Monday through Thursday, and 8:30-3:30 on Friday; you just need to stop by and sign in.  Call 937-512-3700 for more information.

Is there a waiting list for my program?

Several of our programs do have a waiting list, but many do not.  Due to program size, demand for the profession, and numbers of applicants, it is best to check with a the specific department you are interested in.

What are the job prospects?

Health care careers are always in demand, but many professions experience a shortage from time to time.  The job placement rate in allied health is excellent, and our graduates are highly recruited.

Where will I do my clinicals?

Our programs affiliate with all of the major hospitals in the Dayton area, and many other health care facilities.  You will be placed in facilities where you will receive excellent educational experiences.

Please refer to each department’s website for specific details.
