Sinclair Theatre will hold Open Auditions for two fall productions, The Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare and A Plague of Angels by Mark St. Germain on May 29th at 6 p.m. in 2L12, on Sinclair’s downtown Dayton campus. Callbacks will be May 30-31.
The Taming of the Shrew will be directed by Nelson Sheeley with performance dates: September 28-Oct. 6 in Blair Hall Theatre.
A Plague of Angels will be directed by Kimberly Borst with performance dates: November 8-10 in Blair Hall.
Rehearsals for both shows will begin during Fall semester at Sinclair.
To audition, prepare a 1-2 minute contemporary dramatic monologue AND a 1-2 minute comedic Shakespeare piece.

Sinclair offers associate’s degrees in theatre performance and theatre technology that will transfer to most 4-year college theatre programs saving you money while jump-starting your success!
Sinclair provides full and partial talent scholarships to students who intend to major in Theatre Performance or Technology beginning Fall of the following academic year. Students may also qualify for academic or need-based scholarships. Sinclair’s Theatre Department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, offers the lowest tuition in the state with credits transferable to most four-year programs. Sinclair’s award-winning Theatre Department actively participates in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, DayTony Awards and United States Institute for Theatre Technology.
All scholarship audition participants must bring a resume. Performance majors should prepare an audition of not more than four minutes, which should include either two contrasting monologues or one song and one monologue. Theatre technology majors should bring a portfolio and/or be prepared to discuss interest and experiences in theatre technology and design. All participants will receive complimentary tickets to a Sinclair Theatre performance.
