Dance (DAN)

The Dance department is designed for students who love to dance. Students may perform and choreograph. Choreographers create new and original dance compositions, which they may teach to other performers. Students may teach in or open private dance studios.

At the heart of the dance department are technique classes including ballet, modern, jazz and tap. In addition supporting courses in dance history, dance composition, dance pedagogy, Pointe and dance practicum complement the performance aspect of the department.

Sinclair's excellent dance studio facilities feature a coil spring floor and dressing rooms.  The Contemporary Dance of Sinclair is the performing group of the Dance department that emphasizes modern dance choreography. Performances are held in the dance studio and in many locations around the city.
