Art Department Programs
The A.A. in Art is a university parallel program oriented toward students who intend to transfer to a four-year college or university.
The Art curriculum challenges students' creative and criticial thinking skills with its studio and Art History courses.
Students wishing to pursue careers in art will be advised and assisted by faculty members who are working professional artists. Faculty will challenge students to develop techniques and a body of work that will transfer well to four-year colleges and universities.
Although the most obvious career choice for college graduates with Art degrees is that of the fine artist, there are other opportunities that require the skill, knowledge, and talents gained through the study of Art. These career opportunities include art teachers, art historians, art curators, and art therapists.
