The Art Department's curriculum stresses technical competenece, a broad knowledge of art history, an understanding of artistic styles, critical thinking skills, creative problem-solving, and insight to art's significant role in society. With a focus on student enrichment, the Art Department also hosts regular exhibitions of contemporary art and visiting artist workshops/lectures.

A permanent collection of art (African, Native-American, Student Purchase Awards, REACH art, etc.) makes Sinclair a valuable resource for students and the greater Dayton area.
