Physics (PHY)

Art Ross, Chairperson
Physics Department (AST, PHY)

Welcome to the Physics Department at Sinclair Community College.  Taking physics courses at Sinclair means taking courses taught by dedicated faculty using state-of-the-art facilities.  Class size is small with ample opportunity for interaction with both classmates and instructor.  The well-equipped labs and classrooms provide an environment where physics can be experienced closely through numerous hands-on activities and demonstrations.  The department utilizes computer assisted data acquisition techniques in many labs to make the subject matter more accessible, and demonstrate how data are taken in modern labs.  The goal of the program is that all students learn and appreciate the subject.  Students are shown how physics applies to their world and demonstrates how it meshes with their career and professional goals.
