The newest element in the Aviation Technology department is a unique partnership with Aviation Sales, Inc. (ASI), one of the region's premier pilot training organizations. This partnership provides for the training of professional airline pilots, through Sinclair Community College, at the Wright Brothers Airport. |
| Outstanding simulation hardware is utilized in the pilot programs. In addition, the Aviation Technology Department also offers training with Satellite Tool Kit software from Analytical Graphics, Inc. which provides students with state-of-the-art aerospace simulations and modeling tools for professional development as well as personal interest. |

| What are the prospects for those interested in aviation? |

The demand for major airline pilots is now greater than pre 9-11 levels, and the demand for general aviation are at an all-time high. The use of interstate commerce has increased the demand for cargo pilots for companies like UPS, Federal Express, ABX Air, and the United States Postal Service. A shift in business travel from the major airlines to executive-size aircraft has created a new increase in the number of pilot jobs available. This change in airline passenger and cargo traffic, along with an expected wave of retirements, will provide many job opportunities for new pilots and for flight instructors at all levels of the aviation industry. |

Become a flight instructor for Sinclair's flight academy, located at the Dayton Wright Brothers Airport. Teach Sinclair flight students, whose primary goal is to become commercial airline pilots. The compensation rate for flight instructors is $19/hr. for both air and ground instruction. Teach part time or full time. Other teaching opportunities are available for CFIs in the aviation program at Sinclair Community College. |
