for Online DL. The Discussion Forum You will often be directed to post comments, assignments, critiques and other responses to the Discussion Forum. In most instances, your comments will be public and available for everyone in the class to see. However, some instructors may set up private discussion forums to facilitate group work or similar activities. In this case, only the members of the private discussion forum and the instructor will see the posted information. Online. Course Mail This is an e-mail tool that is specific to this course and only this course. If you are taking another web course here at Sinclair that uses WebCT, there will be mail specific to that course. You will not be able to e-mail people outside of this course using this tool. The Mail System provides three main functions to the user: the ability to send, read and search for mail messages. It is an important communication tool because it allows private messages to be sent from one participant to another, including the instructor. The system is divided into two boxes (folders) for each user:

the Language: Effective Communication Online. Chat The chat room is a live discussion area where you can communicate in "real time". When you type, your classmates can see what you write. These messages only last as long as the discussion is ongoing; that is, once a session of chat is ended, the messages disappear.
