Traditional Testing

Some courses use “Traditional Testing” methods. Testing for these type of courses include paper-pencil testing or supervised computer-based testing, given either on-campus or by a test proctor.  Where you live is the determining factor in whether you will test on-campus or by test proctor.

It is your responsibility to make the appropriate arrangements for completing testing, as required for each course, prior to the start of the quarter you will be attending.

Distance learners are categorized into two distinct groups, as defined by how far they live from Sinclair’s main campus:

  • Local Learners (Students living within a 60-mile radius of the main campus.)Students enrolled in distance learning courses and living within a 60-mile radius of Sinclair’s main campus will test on campus.  Please refer to your course syllabus for testing location, time and deadlines.
  • Non-Local Learners (Students living beyond a 60-mile radius of the main campus.)Students enrolled in Distance Learning courses and living beyond a 60-mile radius from Sinclair’s main campus have the option of obtaining a test proctor to administer their tests locally.  If you wish to pursue this option, it is your responsibility to secure a proctor to administer your tests. Please consult your course syllabus to determine the deadlines for your tests. Please click here to obtain information about proctoring and the required Proctor Form.

Proctor Forms must be on file with the Distance Learning Office prior to the start of each quarter.
