How to apply for the STEP program:
Students must apply on their own for these positions. All requested materials must be included. Resumes are kept on file at WPAFB for future openings.
a. Personal Resume or OF 612 Form from http://www.opm.gov/Forms that includes the following:
Job Information
• List what you are applying for, i.e. “STEP program”
Personal Information
• Full name, mailing address, day and evening phone numbers
• Social Security Number
• Country of Citizenship
Education
• High School name, city, state, zip code, and date of diploma or GED.
• College or university names, city, state, zip code, majors; type and year of any degrees received or if no degree was earned, total credit hours earned to date at each school and whether it is in semester or quarter hours.
Work Experience
• Paid and unpaid positions, including job title, duties and accomplishments, employer’s name and address, supervisor’s name and phone number, starting and ending dates, hours per week, salary, and if WPAFB can contact your current supervisor.
Other Qualifications
• Job-related training courses, including title and year.
• Job-related skills (i.e. other languages, computer software/hardware, tools, machinery, typing speed) – be explicit – include skills developed in courses, on jobs or on your own.
• Job-related certificates and licenses.
• Job-related honors, awards and special accomplishments.
b. Self-certification of typing speed (for clerical positions that require typing)
c. Your college schedule showing at least six credit hours, a current paid receipt of your classes (ex. your Sinclair fee bill), and college transcript(s) of all completed courses.
d. Male students only: If you are a male born after December 31, 1959 and at least 18 through 25 years of age, registered with the Selective Service Service System or have a valid exemption that you can certify.
e. Prior military: may include DD-214 and the SF-15, if applicable.
f. Mail all requested information to:

After being hired as a STEP or Co-op, notify the Sinclair’s BUS Internship & Co-op Program ASAP. This office is responsible for documenting your academic requirements for WPAFB.
