What is the Travel & Tourism program at Sinclair?

The Travel & Tourism program is devoted to the study of the basic theory of travel, and developing the skills of a travel professional. Students will complete practical exercises which simulate real work experience. In addition, students will gain an understanding of:

  • Cruises, selling vacations at sea
  • Tours—escorted, hosted, and independent
  • Surface transportation
  • Managing a travel agency
  • Marketing for the travel industry
  • Management of travel sales personnel
  • Accommodations and car rentals
  • Development of a travel professional
  • Travel salesmanship
  • Air tariffs, fare construction, and airline documentation
  • World place geography
  • Domestic and international air reservations
