Scholarships for Hospitality Management - Culinary Arts Majors
American Hotel & Lodging Association Scholarships
  • Major in Culinary Arts Option  
  • Minimum 2.75 GPA  
  • Completed a minimum of 15 credit hours in the Culinary Arts core curriculum  
  • Must be currently employed in the food service industry 
  • Application must include a letter of recommendation from current employer in the food service industry

The Ohio Travel Association is now accepting applications for our 2010 scholarship.  OTA’s scholarship, known as the Bill Schwartz Memorial Scholarship, recognizes rising stars and fosters the travel and tourism/hospitality-related education of an Ohio college student.  The $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a deserving, full-time student studying tourism.  The application, as well as other opportunities for students, is located at http://www.ohiotravel.org/pages/students.html.  The deadline to apply is June 15.
Aramark Culinary Art Scholarship
  • Must have a declared major in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts  
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA  
  • Must have completed at least 15 credit hours in the core curriculum  
  • Personal essay including your goals is required

    Miami Valley Restaurant Association (MVRA) Scholarship

    Purpose -To encourage and support the development and education of new professionals in the fields of hospitality and restuarant management and the culinary arts.

    Criteria - Applicants will meet the following criteria:

    • May be full-time or part-time students;
    • Must have a declared major in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts  
    • Have completed at lease one quarter of study prior to applying for the scholarship ;
    • Have a current GPA of 2.75 or better;  
    • Demonstrate interest in the field of  food service through current or former experience working in a restaurant or other food service facility.


    Application & Selection:

    • Applicants will complete the standard "Sinclair Scholarships" form available at the Financial Aid and Scholarships, Room 10-343.
    • Applications will be taken during the Spring Quarter scholarship application period.
    • Faculty from the Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management programs may also nominate students who meet the above criteria to be considered for these awards.
    • A committee of full-time and part-time faculty appointed by the Department Chairperson will select the recipients.


    Uses:    This scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, and books.

    Funds Management:

    • The number and size of awards which may be used during one quarter or spread over the entire academic year at the recipient's request.
    • MVRA will provide an initial gift of $600 in the Spring to fund one award for the academic year.

     

    National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation
