Did you receive your first commission as an Ohio law enforcement officer more than 1 year, but less than 2 years, since graduation from the academy?  Or, have you have had a break in service of more than 1 year, but less than 4, since regaining your commissioned officer status?  If either of these scenarios applies to you, then you may be required by OPOTA to take this 16-hour refresher training.  This two-day course meets the requirements described in Section 109: 2-1-12(D) of the Ohio Administrative Code.

Participants must be a commissioned Ohio law enforcement officer and bring their OPOTA letter of determination to the first class.  Registrants without this letter will not be allowed to participate in class and receive credit. For more information on refresher requirements, please contact OPOTA’s Certification and Standards Division at (800) 346-7682.
To register for the Peace Officer Refresher Academy, call (937) 252-9787 or go online to www.sinclair.edu/workforce
