2006-2007
 
Sarah Gross, Associate Professor of Marketing at Sinclair Community College, has been selected to receive the Wal-Mart Teaching Excellence Award presented by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).  The recognition is for "outstanding leadership and service in business education." 
 
Anitra Terrell, Fullbright-Hayes Group Project Abroad, Ohio Magazine Excellence in Education Award.
 
Mike Brigner, received the ACBSP Region 4 Community Service Award.
 
Sheila Shuel, Coordinator Business Division Cooperative Education and Internship Program, received the Ohio Cooperative Education Association (OCEA) Lifetime Service Award.
 
2007-2008
 
Chief John Moore, a member of the Dayton Fire Department was selected as the Fire Chief for Mason, Ohio, Fire Department.  Chief Moore is an active member of the FST Advisory Committee and a friend of Sinclair. 
 
Steve Cornelius, Chair Hospitality Management, has been invited to apply for the American Culinary Federation Chef Educator of the Year Award. Only invited chefs may apply.
 
Mary Wiseman, an adjunct faculty member in the Paralegal Program, was appointed by Gov. Ted Strickland to Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas to fill a seat that will be vacated Oct. 31 by the retirement of Judge John W. Kessler. She will take the bench on November 5.
 
Patricia Deal, Certified Executive Pastry Chef, and adjunct HMT instructor, volunteered her time on November 18th as a judge for the 13th annual dessert competition held at “Ringing In The Holidays” in Carillon Park. An article in the November 28th-December 4th Dayton City Paper (written by food critic Rebecca Ingebo, aka Ella V. Adalois, who is a SCC Culinary Arts student) mentioned Chef Pat in the article, “a pastry instructor at Sinclair Community College”.  Dayton Area American Culinary Federation Chef of the Year awarded to Chef Patricia Deal.
