H1N1 Vaccine

We are pleased to announce that Sinclair Community College will be a vaccination site for the H1N1 shot when it becomes available in the coming weeks. Sinclair students will be able to receive the vaccination at the designated site for free. You must present your Sinclair Community College Tartan card at time of inoculation. We will notify you via email and other campus communications once the date, time and location have been confirmed to receive the H1N1 flu shot.

Students and employees in high risk categories should plan on getting an H1N1 vaccine. the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices has recommended several initial target groups for the H1N1 flu shot:

• Individuals ages 6 mos to 24 years
• People with underlying medical conditions (like asthma or diabetes)
• Pregnant women
• First responders
• Caregivers of children 6 mos or younger

Seasonal Flu Vaccine

Currently, Sinclair does not plan on providing a seasonal flu vaccine to students. If you would like to get a vaccine for the seasonal flu, you can receive one from the Public Health Distric of Montgomery County (PHDMC), located on the corner of Fourth and Main Streets. The vaccines are $20 and are available now. For more information, visit the PHDMC Vaccine Schedule Web page. Students may also get vaccinated at many local drug stores or by their primary care physician.
