H1N1 (Swine) Flu

As we enter into the flu season, Sinclair Community College would like to keep you informed of current updates on the H1N1 virus (Swine Flu). Sinclair Community College has taken this community concern very seriously, establishing an internal task force comprised of Administrators, Public Safety and Healthcare Professionals. We are routinely monitoring the community through local and state health officials.  

Prevention Tips

1. Get your Flu vaccine
2. Avoid close contact.
3. Stay home when you are sick.
4. Cover your mouth and nose.
5. Clean your hands.
6. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
7. Practice other good health habits.

How do I know if I have the flu?

You may have the flu if you have some or all of these symptoms:
fever*
cough
sore throat
runny or stuffy nose
headache
body aches
chills
fatigue
sometimes diarrhea and vomiting


*It’s important to note that not everyone with flu will have a fever.

Medical Care

Students are advised to seek medical care from their doctor if they think they may have H1N1. Free clinics are available in both Montgomery and Warren Counties.
