2008 Spirit of Service Awards Finalist

Congratulations to Dottie Bely, Professor, Academic Foundations, for being selected as a finalist in the Spirit of Service Award for 2008.  The Corporation for National & Community Service presents awards each year to participants in various categories.  This year, Dottie was nominated for her outstanding efforts.  Hats off to Dottie for her dedicated commitment to National and Community Service.  She reflects the best of National Service and is an inspiration to others!

Renee Rankin Wins Sinclair
Statue Photo Contest 

This year's City Life '08 -  A Downtown Sculpture Walk by J. Seward Johnson, featured 20 statues including "Far Out" sponsored and hosted by Sinclair Community College.  The Sculpture is located on West Third Street at St. Mary's Street in front of the Sinclair Community College concrete letters marquee.  Renee is a staff member of Service Learning and submitted the photograph 'Reflection' on behalf of the Service Learning Department depicting students, faculty and staff surrounding the statue with a Service Learning theme.  Renee's photograph was awarded first place for it's creativity, overall photo composition and positive reflection on Sinclair Community College.  To view the winning photo click here.
