Incident Training Exercise to Occur August 27 in Sinclair Library
On Wednesday, August 27, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Sinclair Police will participate in an incident training exercise along with members of the Dayton Police Department’s Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) Team and the Hostage Negotiation Team. The Sinclair Library, including the upper level walkways between buildings, will be closed to all faculty, students, staff, and visitors throughout the exercise. Library employees will also participate in the training to practice their response to a potential major incident. During the training, it is very likely that marked police vehicles and personnel will be seen in various parts of the downtown campus. These vehicles will be part of the exercise and there is no need to be alarmed or concerned. It is also possible that news media, including television news crew vehicles and personnel will be on site to report on the training exercise. Please let Sinclair Campus Safety Director Chuck Gift know if you have any concerns about this planned exercise or have questions regarding its scope. You can reach Chief Gift at 2534 or charles.gift@sinclair.edu
Please share this information with anyone whom you believe has a need to know, including students, colleagues and potential campus visitors. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
