Department of Public Safety
The men and women of the Department of Public Safety are dedicated to maintaining a safe environment. We can only achieve a truly safe campus through the cooperation of all students, faculty and staff. Each of us must assume personal responsibility by reporting crime and taking precautions to prevent ourselves from becoming a victim. The Department of Public Safety and Sinclair Police serve the campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week providing emergency services, responding to criminal and non-criminal incidents, providing escort service to your vehicle or assisting in finding a lost item.
Sinclair Community College supports the Montgomery County Coalition for Drug-Free Communities. The mission of the Montgomery County Coalition for Drug-Free Communities is to promote a drug-free community by mobilizing diverse partnerships; developing, implementing and supporting environmental strategies; and increasing public awareness of the harmful effects of heroin, opiates, and illegal prescription drugs.

Sinclair Police On the Move

Sinclair police participated in the 5th Annual Miami Valley Community Problem Oriented Policing Conference in September. This free conference hosted by the Miami Valley Crime Prevention Association provided free training in a variety of topics including current scams, crimes against senior citizens, cybercrime, identity theft and other topics.


In August, Sinclair police officers, dispatchers, and Safety Information Officers participated in an annual joint “Emergency Response” training exercise with the Dayton Police SWAT Team, Hostage Negotiation Team and the Dayton Fire Department Rescue Task Force. Faculty, students and staff also participated in the training, which included evacuation of Building 8.
