United HeathCare of Ohio is our provider for medical insurance. This is a point-of-service plan with in- or out-of-network providers. The plan includes prescription drug coverage. There is no pre-existing condition waiting period for new employees or eligible dependents. There is an employee premium contribution amount based on plan selection (single or family). |

Superior Dental Care, Inc. is a network plan. Members must seek service from a participating dentist in order to be eligible for benefits. Over 94% of local dentists participate in this plan. There is an employee premium contribution amount based on plan selection (single or family). |

A term life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance policy is automatically paid for by the college for eligible employees. The employee may purchase additional voluntary life and AD&D insurance coverage for themselves. |

A salary replacement policy for a disability sustained on or off the job is paid for by the college. Following a 90 day waiting period, benefits are payable at 60% of monthly earning prior to the disability to a maximum benefit of $7,000 per month. |

A salary replacement program for a disability sustained on or off the job is provided by the college. When an employee has meet eligibility criteria the salary continuation is at 60% of base pay for a period of 10 weeks or until LTD becomes effective. |

Two tax saving accounts are available: a "Medical Expense Spending Account" to pay for out-of-pocket medical/dental expenses not covered by insurance and a "Dependent Care Reimbursement Account" to pay for childcare expenses. Employees may contribute money to these accounts on a pre-tax basis. |

Care 24 is an EAP offered through United HealthCare of Ohio to its members and their families. EmployeeCare is a local EAP that is a joint program of Miami Valley Hospital and Good Samaritan Hospital. Both plans offer assistance, counseling and/or referral for a variety of issues that effect employee and family members. |

Employees may elect pre-tax salary deductions for this retirement savings plan. Many self-directed investment options are available through a variety of participating providers. |

The state retirement plan for non-faculty employees is Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). The employee contribution of 8.5% of salary is deducted from each paycheck. The employer contribution is currently 13.55%. For a law enforcement employee joining PERS-LE the employee contribution rate is 9% and employer contribution rate is 16.70% |

State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio (STRS) |
The state retirement plan for faculty employees is State Teachers Retirement System (STRS). The employee contribution of 10% of salary is deducted from each paycheck. The employer contribution is currently 14%. |

Newly hired full-time tenure-track faculty and administrators can elect out of the state retirement system plan and elect an Alternative Retirement Plan. Alternative Retirement Plans provide a retirement option with easy state-to-state portability. ARP's are "defined contribution plans" and providers have been approved by the state. |

Hours are accrued per pay period for non-faculty employees. Exempt employees accrue 6.67 hours of vacation leave per pay period. Non-Exempt employees (except 9-month employees) accrue 4.0 hours of vacation leave per pay period. Non-Exempt employees also receive incremental vacation leave adjustments based on years of service. An employee may accumulate up to 240 hours of vacation time. |

Sick leave is a benefit provided by the college to protect full-time employees against loss of income when they are unable to work. Sick leave is accrued at the rate of 5 hours per pay period up to a total of 120 hours per year. Annual unused sick leave may be accumulated up to a maximum of 1,200 hours. Annually Contracted Faculty and faculty adjuncts have separate accumulated maximum amounts. |

Employees may be compensated for accumulated sick leave if he or she retires directly (PERS/PERS-LE/STRS/ARP) from full-time employment after five or more years of continuous service. The rate of payment is one day of severance pay for each four days of accumulated and unused sick leave up to a maximum of 240 hours of severance pay. Payment is based on the staff member's rate of pay at the time of retirement and shall be made only once to any one staff member. |

Twenty-four (24) hours of personal leave is made available to each full-time employee who is on the payroll as of January 1 of each year and may be used only during that calendar year. Personal leave for new employees hired after January 1 of each year is granted on a prorated basis at the rate of two hours for each full month of employment anticipated during the calendar year. |

The college observes thirteen (13) paid holidays during the calendar year. |

Employees their spouses, and dependent children who are eligible for tuition waiver may attend Sinclair Community College on a no-tuition (no instruction fee) basis, if they meet the requirements for admission. Tuition remission is based on residency. |
|

Employees who have completed one full year of continuous service with the college are eligible for tuition reimbursement for course work taken at accredited, four-year colleges and universities. |
