Differences between Honors Program and Honor Society

Primary Objectives:

  • The Honors Program is an academic program where students take classes for Honors credit
  • Phi Theta Kappa is the International Honor Society of Two-year Colleges whose focus is service, leadership, scholarship and fellowship.  It is a recognized student organization at Sinclair CC.

Student Eligibility:

  • Any Sinclair student with a GPA 3.0 or higher can enroll in Honors classes
  • Only students with a 3.5 GPA and 15 hours completed are eligible to join Phi Theta Kappa

  • Honors Program office is in room 10-339, phone 512-4331
  • Phi Theta Kappa office is in room 10-338, phone 512-2517

  • Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success
  • Psi Beta, the National Honor Society of Psychology for Community and Junior Colleges
