Who has a e-mail account?
All Sinclair Faculty, Staff and Students have a e-mail account.

How do I get an e-mail account?
A new student will have an email account upon his/her first registration for courses at Sinclair Community College. Depending upon when you register for class, your account will be available the day after you register, but not sooner than two weeks prior to the start of the quarter.

How do I login to my e-mail account?
Log on to my.Sinclair Portal at http://my.sinclair.edu. Usernames are typically in the format firstname.lastname (lowercase letters) unless you have a more common name. If you are unsure of your user name, click the link that says "Don't know or forgot your user ID?" and follow the instructions. Your password is "pass" followed by the last four digits of your social security number with no spaces the first time you login. (Example: pass1234) You will be required to change your password at the first login and every 90 days. After logging on to my.Sinclair, click the tab that says "E-mail"

What is my e-mail address?
Your email address is username@my.sinclair.edu

How much space will I have for my e-mail files?
You will have a Mailbox Size of 10 Mb. When your mailbox is 90% full you will be sent a notification. Old messages are deleted after 90 days. You have 3 options to save old messages *** Save the HTML file to computer or to disk. *** Forward the message to another account. *** Copy and paste the message content into another program such as Word.

How long will my student e-mail account be active?
There is no formal plan in place to deactivate student emails. The current thinking is accounts would be deleted after one or two years of inactivity, but again, no decision has been made regarding this issue.

How do I forward
1. Login to the Portal and click the Student Mail tab: 2 . From the Welcome page, click the "Continue" link 3. Click the Personal Account Options box on the menu and select "Change Mail Forwarding Information." Enter the forwarding e-mail address.
