9 Enrollment Steps for First Time College Students
  1. Apply to Sinclair by completing an application for admission in one of the following ways:
    • Submit an online application.
    • Mail your paper application to the address provided on it.
    • Submit your paper application in person to the learning center.
  2. Apply for Financial Aid
    • Apply for financial aid by completing the online FAFSA application at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
    • Sinclair's school code: 003119
  3. Complete Placement Testing
    • See the receptionist in the learning center lobby.
      • Math, reading and writing assessments are used for course placement only.
      • Picture ID is required for placement testing.
  4. Attend New Student Orientation
    • New Student Orientation sessions are provided at the learning center to inform you about resources and services to help make your experience a positive one.
    • For information on session times and dates, please call 937-233-5550.
  5. Meet with an Academic Advisor
    • Your academic advisor at the learning center will help select appropriate courses based on your educational goals and placement test results.
  6. Develop a Class Schedule
    • Browse course schedules online or with a course catalog.
    • The learning center staff will help you select days, times and course sections.
  7. Register for classes in one of two ways:
    • Online at my.sinclair.edu through Web Advisor
    • In person at the learning center
  8. Get a Tartan Card (Student ID)
    • Pictures for a student ID can be taken after you register for classes
    • Your Tartan Card can be used for various things at the learning center and at the Dayton campus.
      • Tartan Cash: Money deposited on the Tartan Card that can be used in the bookstore, at vending machines and for parking on the Dayton campus
      • Access to the learning center library
      • Learn more about the student ID by visiting the Tartan Card website.
  9. Pay for Classes: Tuition and fees must be paid by the term's deadline in one of the following ways:
    • Online at my.sinclair.edu using Web Advisor
      • While logged into my.sinclair.edu, click on the Web Advisor block
      • Click on "Students"
      • Click on "Make a Payment" under the Financial Aid header
      • Click on "Pay on My Account" (Visa and MasterCard only)
    • In person at the HHLC Tartan Bookstore
    • Mail to Bursar's (Cashier's) office, Sinclair Community College, 444 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402-1460
    • Use the FACTS Tuition Payment Plan (facts.sinclair.edu)
