9 Enrollment Steps for First Time College Students
  1. Apply to Sinclair by completing an application for admission in one of the following ways:
    • Submit application online by clicking here
    • Mail application to the address provided on the application
    • Submit the paper application in person to the HHLC lobbby
  2. Apply for Financial Aid
    • Apply for financial aid by completing the online FAFSA application at www.fafsa.ed.gov
    • Sinclair's school code: 003119
  3. Complete Placement Testing
    • See the receptionist in the HHLC lobby or call (937) 233-5550 to schedule an appointment
      • Math, reading and writing assessments are used for course placement only.
      • Picture ID is required for placement testing
  4. Attend New Student Orientation
    • New Student Orientation sessions are provided at the HHLC to inform you about resources and services to help make your experience here a positive one
    • For information on session times and dates, view our Orientation Listings online
  5. Meet with an Academic Advisor
    • The HHLC advisor will help select appropriate courses based on the student's educational goals and placement test results
  6. Develop a Class Schedule
    • Browse course schedules online or with a course catalog
    • The HHLC staff will help students select days, times and course sections
  7. Register for classes in one of three ways:
    • Online at my.sinclair.edu through Web Advisor
    • Over the phone by calling (937) 512-5454 or 1-866-512-5454
    • In person at the HHLC
  8. Obtain a Tartan Card (Student ID)
    • Pictures for a student ID can be taken after registration for classes
    • Your Tartan Card can be used for various things at the HHLC and at the Dayton campus
      • Tartan Cash: Money deposited on the Tartan card which can be used in the bookstore, at the vending machines and parking downtown
      • Access to the HHLC Library
      • Learn more about the student ID by visiting the Tartan Card Web site
  9. Pay for Classes - Tuition and fees must be paid by the quarterly deadline in one of the following ways:
    • Online at my.sinclair.edu using Web Advisor
      • While logged into my.sinclair.edu, click on the Web Advisor tab along the top
      • Click on "Current Students"
      • Click on "Finances"
      • Finally, click on "Pay Now" (Visa and MasterCard only)
    • Over the phone by calling (937) 512-5454 or 1-866-512-5454
    • In person at the HHLC Tartan Bookstore
    • Mail to Bursar's (Cashier's) office, Sinclair Community College, 444 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45402-1460
    • Utilize the FACTS Tuition Payment Plan (facts.sinclair.edu)
