Welcome to The Office of the Senior Vice President
Dr. Robert E. Johnson, Senior Vice President at Sinclair Community College is responsible for the strategic leadership of the following groups: Learning Centers, Marketing, School Linkages, Strategic Enrollment Management, and Student & Academic Support Services. In addition to these five groups, Dr. Johnson oversees the partnership between Sinclair Community College and the Dayton Public Schools in the opening of the new Ponitz Career Technology Center. As a Division, Dr. Johnson has the responsibility for the leadership of developing the strategies and tactics designed to analyze, improve, and implement processes and systems that will increase enrollment and retention, build brand, and improve student success.

The mission of the Division is “to attract, prepare, enroll, and retain individuals with diverse backgrounds and educational needs, by providing them with opportunities to achieve student success and contribute to the community and region as a global citizen.” The Strategic Priorities of the Division for 2009 – 2010 are:   
  1. Evaluate and adjust enrollment and data management systems in order to accommodate for growth in enrollment and retention; reach emerging market demands such as displaced workers; and incorporate tactics to reach defined USO metrics. 
  2. Strengthen services and collaborative relationships with Instruction, Workforce Development, and Information Technology in order to increase student enrollment, academic success, retention, and graduation.  
  3. Develop systems to improve all operations through effective and efficient management of human and financial resources, with specific focus paid to grant funded programs and providing resources to employees to enhance a quality workplace.  
  4. Implement strategies and tactics to grow enrollment and student support services within the five market locations: Dayton Campus, Learning Centers, Courseview Campus Center, Online, and Wright Patterson Air Force Base.  
  5. Develop and implement processes and systems that integrate Career Services with Workforce Development, Co-op/Internships, and the recruitment and advising processes. 
  6. Expand linkages within the P-20 system that will increase early college credit options, establish a streamline system to enroll students at Sinclair, and build collaborations with the Ponitz Career Technology Center. 
  7. Execute the educational plan for the Ponitz Career Technology Center and nationally promote the Dayton Public Schools and Sinclair Community College partnership.
