The College Level Examination Program (CLEP) is a national program of credit-by-examination that offers an opportunity to obtain recognition for college-level achievement outside of a college or university environment. You can take a CLEP exam, and if the results meet Sinclair's criteria, you can receive college credit. CLEP offers a variety of subject examinations. Sinclair Community College has established equivalencies for most of the CLEP subject examinations. Click here for a current list of exams for which Sinclair awards credit. Each examination costs $70. The fee for optional essays is $10. Most testing sites also charge an administrative fee.
To have these courses applied to your Sinclair record if you have already taken the exam, you should bring or send a copy of your CLEP scores to the Academic Advising Center, Room 11-346, Attention: Vicky (fax #937-512-5054). Include your name, address, and Sinclair I.D. number. If you have not yet taken the exam, you can request that your scores be sent to Sinclair, or you can submit your personal copy.
